A note from our Winemaker:
Wine exposed to hot temperatures in a short time period (defined as less than 12 hours) is highly unlikely to impact the quality.
Wine would need to be exposed to excessive temperatures (when packaged) for more than a day in order to be impacted by the heat. Unpacked bottles exposed directly to sunlight/heat would be different but the packaging does help protect the wine.
If the member tried the wines and feels they have been impacted we are happy to credit or reship.
The customer states their wine was exposed to excessive temperatures:
If your wines arrive warm that doesn’t mean they’re damaged! If you let the wines cool down in a dark room they should be fine to drink. Of course, if after they have time to cool and you think the wine isn’t good, just reach out to us at service@firsleaf.com and we’ll refund you for the bottles!
If you’d rather not risk heat damage on future orders, below are a few options on how you can completely reduce the risk of heat affecting your orders:
- The best option is to have the order shipped to a business address or FedEx holding location for pick up. That way your wine will arrive on the first delivery attempt. You can update your shipping address to a FedEx holding location through these few simple steps:
- Log into your account here
- Click on Your Account in the right-hand corner
- Select Shipping Addresses on the left-side
- Here you can add a new address, edit an existing address, or delete an address from the account
- Follow the prompt 'If you would like to pick up your shipment from a designated FedEx location, click here.'
Please note - If the order has already processed, you will need to reach out to us at service@firstleaf.com to redirect the order.
- You can also change the ship date of your next order until the Summer is over.
You can update the ship date of your next order by following these simple steps:
- Log into your account here
- Go to the Club Orders page at the top of the screen
- You can see the date of when your next order will ship
- Click the date to make any changes to the your next delivery
- Select any date from the calendar, and click Save
- You will see the message "Saved! We updated your settings!"
